It's pretty easy for me to find joys in the simple things of life: cold apple juice, cereal and cartoons, lying in a field watching clouds, running in the rain..

but how do you respond when the major things that dictate your life begin to crumble around? Or when you're trying to find a solution to a problem or void... but the object of desire.. is unknown?

well, that last sentence is confusing as hell.

it sounds like you tried to generalize a feeling, but ended up being more specific. maybe i'm wrong. anyway, when things start to crumble, there are two choices. patch things up as you go and try to protect yourself, or let everything crumble and rebuild. i think people usually opt for the former instinctively, but sometimes i think letting everything go and rebuilding is better in the long run. of course, it depends on the person.

and about your last sentence: "find a solution to a problem" was what seemed like the generalization, and then it seemed like you picked out the problem by saying that you felt a void, but don't know how to fill it. i think that's a common feeling for a lot of people, but just at different times in their life. for example, a mid-life crisis. your life is half over and you have no idea if you accomplished what you wanted to do! you probably don't even know what you wanted to accomplish. i guess college students can feel this way too with their i-don't-know-what-i-want-to-major-in. anyway, hopefully, it'll take its course and you'll figure things out.

i didn't provide much advice, as i'm probably not the kind of person who should be giving it. i'm hoping that i helped somehow though.
